I experience sadness and emptiness just like everybody else. Truth be told, I am making this blog post not to give you specific steps to be happy, rather I want to offer you some enlightening words that might help you overcome your troubles, worries and doubts. We all get to the point in life where we stumble, but somehow these words caught me back up.
“Do not depend your happiness on somebody else because once they’re gone, so is your happiness.”
We complain about being sad, yet we do not take a step away from being sad. Sometimes we fail to see that happiness comes in different forms.
Happiness is achieved not by getting what you want, but by wanting what you already have and living the most out of it.
“It’s okay to mourn for a little while but afterwards, think about your next step.”
“Those who experience more joy don’t necessarily have more to be joyful about; they just think differently.”
“Only those who experience the rain can truly appreciate the sun.”
“Whenever I am sad, I stop being sad and start being awesome instead.”
“The trick is that as long as you know who you are and what makes you happy, it doesn’t matter how others see you.”
After reaching out to these words, think about the top three things- be it a person or an activity that makes you the happiest. Of course I wouldn’t expect things to be easy at first. It’s always easier said than done. But setting your mind up that you will be all right and keeping this positive outlook throughout the day is the first step to reaching out to happiness. Smile, and you’ll be fine before you know it.
